Australasian Darter
Anhinga novaehollandiae. I don't think these fellows can fly yet, there were quite a few Darters nesting in the lagoon and upon my approach these juveniles unceremoniously bailed out of their nests and belly-flopped into the water, they then swam over to this dead tree and climbed up it to dry their wings, photographed at DeMoylen's Lagoon in the Pioneer Valley, near Mackay.
