Ninox novaeseelandiae. This fellow came to my attention when his location was given away by a few Yellow-throated Miners and a couple of Blue Faced Honeyeaters, they had been intent on making a racket around a bottlebrush tree for an hour or so when I decided to grab the camera and go take a look. I flushed the owl and all hell broke loose, every bird variety on the farm must have been there chasing the poor chap, they all took a lap around the house and finally he ended up a gum tree with about 20 birds harassing him, a similar cacophony the following day found him holed up in another tree in the same predicament, photographed at Wogollow Farm, Benerembah.
